- Howard County Government, Department of Police - $49,000In an effort to increase the protection of Howard County’s growing senior population, the HCPD will establish a full-time sworn officer as a Senior Liaison Officer and develop programs that focus on victimization of senior citizens, elder abuse, wandering, driver safety and mental health issues thus increasing the protection, reducing levels of fear, and improving communications between seniors and the police.

- FISH of Howard County - $18,000Grant supports emergency funding for pharmacy assistance for the working poor without prescription coverage, those awaiting application processing for assistance programs and those discharged from hospitals with prescriptions and no funds to secure them.
- Chase-Brexton Health Services - $15,000Chase Brexton proposes to partner with Tai Sophia to provide complementary medicine, namely acupuncture care, to their patients at their Columbia site, many of whom have complicated medical and psycho-social concerns, as a means to aid in stress reduction.
- Autism Society of America, Howard County Chapter - $20,000Funding is provided for the development of a resource “toolkit” for pediatricians and primary care physicians focusing on the areas of diagnosis and early intervention, family support services, medical and mental health care, and health care transition through the life stages for autism spectrum disorder.
- Alianza de la Comunidad - $22,064Alianza de la Comunidad received funding to continue to provide parenting classes and workshops to Hispanic parents living in Howard County, in order to strengthen their parenting skills and empower them to become advocates for themselves and their children. They use "Active Parenting", a program which has created materials specific to Spanish speakers.
- Women's Giving Circle of Howard County - $6,900Funding supports the year long follow-up sessions of the 2007 Journey camp for adolescent girls, a project of the Women's Giving Circle to support young girls during a formative development period of their lives.
- Salvation Army - $10,000Grant supports crisis services for families with low-income in need of eviction and utility turnoff prevention and will help to leverage additional funding to meet the $20,000 shortfall of funds raised through the 2006 Christmas Kettle Campaign.

- Autism Society of America, Howard County Chapter - $20,000The organization received funding to build on the "Best Buddies" peer to peer mentoring program at Atholton and Oakland Mills High Schools to provide an after school peer mentor in order that students with an autism spectrum disorder or other developmental disability may participate in after school, extra curricular activities.
- Winter Growth - $20,000Funding supports the development of new software to meet the requirements for reporting and tracking the numerous regulatory and funding agencies involved in the provision of their varied programs.
- Volunteer Center Serving Howard County - $20,000Funds will further enhance the ongoing disaster volunteer initiative.

- St. John Baptist Church Mentoring Program - $20,000Funding seeks to establish a “Mini-Village Mentoring Program”, framed within the context of the Developmental Assets to support youth from low income, single headed households in the villages of Wilde Lake, Harpers Choice and Oakland Mills. The organization is committed to maximizing the experience of the mentee by making the Developmental Assets a way of life for the entire congregation.

- National Council of Jewish Women - HC Chapter - $7,500NCJW-HC’s Breakfast Buddies program that will provide food year round for children from the Dasher Green Head Start Center, who are potentially food-insecure during the weekends when they are not in school.
- Lazarus Foundation - $10,000Lazarus Foundation received funds to develop an educational program for children, adolescents and their parents that addresses cyber safe practices and user responsibility.
- Korean American Community Association - $20,000Funding awarded to develop a culturally based program using the developmental asset framework to address relationship issues between Korean youth and their parents. The Korean American Community Association will partner with two local faith based organizations serving the Korean community: Bethel Presbyterian Church and the Korean American Church of Philippi.
- Howard County Library - $12,500Funding will expand the Health Information Center to include age-appropriate materials for children and adolescents on wellness issues such as physical activity, nutrition, substance abuse and a variety of other lifestyle choices impacting on their well-being.
- Department of Health Services Administration - $25,000The University of Maryland received funding to bring the award winning Legacy Leadership Institutes to Howard County.
- Department of Fire & Rescue Services - $10,000Funding supports the translation of basic emergency questions and responses to Chinese, Korean and Spanish and equips each piece of fire apparatus with a Visual Language Translator communication device and a set of language communication cards.
- Department of Citizen Services - $50,000This proposal provides funding in support of a joint effort of a number of human service providers to provide needed services in the North Laurel-Savage area using a multi-service center approach.
- Columbia Foundation - $30,000The Columbia Foundation received funding to purchase the Foundation Information Management System (FIMS), an integrated software package that has been designed specifically for charitable foundations.
- Alpha Achievers Program - $3,500Alpha Achievers of Oakland Mills received a dollar for dollar matching grant for the 2007-08 school year in order to increase the number of youth and the time they spend focusing on activities and issues related to the youth’s growth and development.

- Stevens Forest Elementary School - $3,000Project will disseminate through the Stevens Forest Elementary School website the results of a multi-year study conducted by students (SFES Research Center) on the impact of cigarette smoke on plants.
- Maryland Society for Sight - $13,655Funds support the Howard County Vision Screening Program, which will help provide vision screening for 364 children in pre-school and Head Start.
- Leadership Howard County - $20,000Funding supports an "Emerging Leaders" program for young professionals ages 25-35, which would train and cultivate future community leaders.

The first issue is dedicated to using the arts as a tool for healing and health.

- Howard County General Hospital - $60,000Funding supports the implementation of a Cancer Patient Navigator Program, in partnership with the American Cancer Society, that would bridge the gap between their underserved clients diagnosed with cancer and the wealth of local support resources.
- Howard Community College Educational Foundation, Inc. - $23,400Funding will support HCC's "Community Opportunities in Recreation and Enrichment" program for adults with developmental disabilities which focuses on increasing health and wellness.
- HC DrugFree - $20,730Funding supports a project to create a "teen voice" on issues related to substance abuse in Howard County. By involving teens, HC DrugFree hopes to gain insights to strengthen its prevention education programs.
