Thank you for making Open Streets a success!
Nearly a thousand people joined us to experience a reimagined Tamar Dr.
Thank you to all who joined us for family fun at Long Reach High School, along Tamar Dr. and at St. John Baptist Church for the Horizon Foundation’s fourth annual Open Streets Howard County.
Nearly a thousand people came out to ride and walk the event route which featured a pop-up two-way separated bike lane on Tamar Dr. Through this event, we were able to experience how a more bikeable, walkable approach to street design can benefit everyone, of all ages and abilities!
Our partners brought a host of activities, including spinart on a bike, bike rodeo, food trucks, Fun Run, safety superheroes, steel drum lessons, balloon twisting, dance and jump rope on the stage, bike rentals, photo booths and more.

Thanks also to our Opening Ceremony guest speakers: Howard County Executive Allan Kittleman, County Councilmember Calvin Ball and Howard High School Students Howard Mitchell and Jared Miller.
We were proud to see everyone turn out in support of a more bikeable, walkable Howard County, and we especially thank those who voiced their support by signing a support card!
