The Horizon Foundation hosted its first Mental Health Film Festival and Annual Meeting on Oct. 25, featuring four films and panel discussions that aimed to build awareness and compassion for members of our community living with or impacted by mental illness. Hundreds of people attended the event, held at the UA Snowden Square Stadium in Columbia.

Horizon Foundation Board Chair Glenn Falcao presented the Richard G. McCauley Transformative Leader Award to Dr. Calvin Ball, Chair of the Howard County Council. State Senator Guy Guzzone and Horizon Foundation CEO Nikki Highsmith Vernick provided opening remarks.
After the films and panel discussions, attendees wrote their reflections and thoughts on cards and posted them on a wall at the theater. Click below to view a gallery of reflection wall cards.
